Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Review & Photos

"Hypnose Doll Eyes" mascara is the newest mascara to be released from cosmetics powerhouse, Lancome.

Hypnôse Doll Eyes
Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes

It promises to "volumise and extend each lash for a lifted lash look". The aim of this mascara is to create that "wide eyed doll" look without weighing down the lashes or producing any fall out.

The brush is created to "assure the ideal load on each lash, even in the inner corner of the eye.
The exclusive Fibershine formula, enriched with nylon powders, offers perfect load and beautiful curve for seductive fanned out lashes. A must-have mascara for a volumised, extended, lifted lash look."

The "cone shaped" brush!

So does it deliver? You betcha it does! This mascara is beautiful! It coats the lashes nicely, doesn't clump and really volumises and extends.

Fair, non existent lashes are transformed into:

Lifted, volumised lashes! I really think it's "opened" my eyes as well.

This mascara actually does everything it claims to. It really widens the eyes by lifting and volumising the lashes. It coats the fine, inner lashes nicely without overloading them.

The best part? The formula is scented with Rose oils- my absolute favourite smell of all time!

No wonder Kim Kardashian chose this mascara for her wedding day!

Have any of you tried this mascara? Would you pay $52 for a mascara?

FOTD featuring Chanel Illusion D'Ombre "Illusoire"

Illusion d'Ombre shadows are a new innovation from Chanel makeup maestro Peter Phillips.

These shadows are a cross between a cream and mousse consistency and are a dream to blend. They are available in six shades:

Thanks to thebeautylookbook.com for this image

These shadows work perfectly together or on their own as a wash of colour. The don't crease (even after 10 hours of wear) and add a really sheek touch to makeup looks.

For today's FOTD, I wore the greyish purple shade (I call it grurple) "Illusoire". I used it as a wash of colour over the lid with some eyeliner and mascara. It's a great product to use when you're in a rush and don't have time to blend 3 different shadows...

Subtle and Sheek- perfect for work! AND it only took 5 minutes!

Buy It From: All major Department Stores
RRP: $48

Have any of you tried these shadows from Chanel? I know MAC and Benefit have those "Paint Pot" things... do you guys like them? I'm loving the texture of these shadows... AND NO FALL OUT! EEE!

Another Lovely Lipstick- Chanel Aqualumiere #92 "Monte Carlo"

Another day, another Chanel lipstick.

This lovely lipstick is from Chanel's "Aqualumiere" range. It's incredibly hydrating and wears comfortably on the lips- kind of like a pigmented lip balm. This particular colour is a sheer red with gold micro shimmer throughout. It's a great if you want a red lip, but not "over the top" red.

What to Take and What to Leave at the Chanel Counter

I've been a Chanel devotee ever since I got my make up done by them for my Year 10 Dance. My first purchase was a Glossimer and to this day, I love them so much.

But even I know when to not buy into the hype and to leave the counter empty handed (from years of experience and bad purchases). I've compiled a list of What to Buy and What to Leave at the Chanel counter, so that you're not disappointed with your next high end cosmetic investment.

These are based off my personal purchases and may not be suitable for everyone.

What To Buy:

L-R: Coco Mademoiselle Parfum, Monte Carlo Rouge Allure, Hydra-Beauty Serum, Illusion d'Ombre and Matt Lumiere

Skin Care
The amount of research and commitment it takes into producing Chanel skin care is phenomenal. I used to be a skeptic and think it was over-priced, regular creams and potions, but I couldn't be any more wrong.
I got a beauty treatment from Chanel the other week and this was my first time I've ever experienced the skin care products. What can I say... I fell in love.

Did you know: Chanel has saved the Vanilla Bean Madagascan plant from extinction. There were only 8 plants left in the wild when Chanel came in and bought one, turning that one plant into a whole crop. They ethically employ people from the Madagascan community to harvest the crops.

Foundation
Again, the technology that is involved with Chanel foundations is mind blowing. They are defiantly worth the $80 price tag- I use mine almost three times a day and it lasts for about 4 months. Totally worth it.

Lipsticks
What can I say really... the pigmentation, colour and moisture levels of Chanel lipsticks are out of this world. They really are they ultimate luxury for any woman. I mean, who doesn't love whipping out a fabulous lipstick, putting it on and feeling 1000 times more glamorous than before?

Illusion d'Ombre Eyeshadows
The texture of these shadows is SO WEIRD. It's like a spongy sea creature! These shadows DO NOT budge once applied to the eye- I'm being serious. I worked 13 hours in these babies and my shadow was looking fresh and perfect after all that time! PLUS they are shimmery without looking tacky. Really really love these.

Fragrance
Chanel fragrance is elegant, timeless and sexy- everything I look for in a fragrance. If it's good enough for Marilyn Monroe, then it's good enough for me.

What to Leave:

Nail Polish
The colours are easily dupe-able and the formula is not ground breaking. They chip at the same rate as any other polish.

Powder Eyeshadows
Apparently the formula has changed on the new shadows that are being released, but the previous ones aren't that great. They pigmentation leaves much to be desired and they fall out something chronic. They also crease after about 1.5 hours of wear without a heavy duty eye primer. Many other cosmetic houses have much nicer shadows, for a portion of the price.

Mascara
With the exception of Sublime de Chanel (it's AMAZING!), Chanel mascaras are a bit of a joke. Just don't go there.

Powder Foundation
Chanel powder foundation is nice, but not worth the $. There are a plethora of other choices available (FACE OF AUSTRALIA for example) so I recommend looking around.

I hope this is helpful to everyone. As I said before, this is what I personally have experienced- it may not be applicable for everyone.

And just fro fun, here is a look I've created with a Chanel Illusion d'Ombre "Emerveille"

What are your thoughts on purchases high-end cosmetics? Are they worth the money? Or are they just a joke? Let me know! Or do you just want my to shut up about Chanel?

Tales of a Nail Novice- The Shocking Pink Manicure

And so another post about my Novice Nails. I've been slowly improving on my skills, but the possibility of me getting acrylics again is like 97.4%.... They always seem to crack and peel and I can't ever grow them :( Any products you guys recommend?

Brights are everywhere this season, and to be honest, I find it a little intimidating. I mean, I love me some colour but NEONS? That's a whole different story...

What better way to dip my finger into the trend (pun intended) than with nail polish!

I first saw this delightful colour on Diana's "The Girl With a Bow" blog and literally spat my coffee out in awe. I LOVED IT AND HAD TO HAVE IT.

And because Diana is a gorgeous little minx, she gave me the bottle! What a doll! I could just put her under my wing and take her away....

So here it is!

Orly in Flirty!

Orly Flirty

Flirty is a bright neon pink with silver micro shimmer throughout. It was a dream to use- two coats and it was completly opaque. It has also lasted two days without chipping- very impressed!

When I first saw this colour I thought of Barbie! EEE! So pretty! I even think it makes my hands look more tanned! WIN!

OH and check out my AWESOME ring I got from Lovisa FOR FREE!!

YAY! I love it!

I Love Lipstick- Ciccone Cosmetics Lipsticks in Oceanus and Hera

Ciccone is one of the awesome, quiet brands that not everyone knows about, but once you do you fall in love and your life is complete!

Ever since I tried one of Ciccone's lipsticks, I knew I was onto a good thing and was a bit hesitant about letting you guys know because I WANT THEM ALL TO MYSELF! How selfish am I :( Sorry guys!

Who are Ciccone?:

"Helen and Frank gave life to Ciccone Cosmetics in 2001. Ten years on, their bright-lipped baby is quickly growing into a boisterous, force-to-be-reckoned-with teen.
A lipstick that feels the way a lipstick should feel. Australian made for women who love their lippies!
There are eight gorgeous lipsticks and two lipliners in our range - with soft pinks, beige and chocolate colours mixed together and a thick clear gloss to wear alone or over the top to create luscious looking, simply irrekissable lips. "
Now onto the lipstick!
I've go two lippies to show you today: Oceanus and Hera.
Left- Oceanus and Right- Hera
Kudos to Ciccone for naming their Lipsticks after characters from Greek Mythology! I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY!
Oceanus
Oceanus
Oceanus is a lovely soft coral shade that's PERFECT for Spring! I really like this coral- it's soft enough for everyday wear without being "too-in-your-face-look-at-me coral"

I really like how Oceanus looks on my Peaches and Cream skin tone:

Hera
Hera
How do I describe Hera? I put it in my "serious/power" lipstick category. It's a very elegant, grown up shade that's perfect for when you have to be in charge!
It's a mid plum/pinky/browny shade that screams sophistication!

This one really makes blue eyes POP!

Thoughts
Ciccone lipsticks are incredibly creamy, silky and glide onto the lips with ease. They are jam packed with moisturisers so your lips wont snap, crackle and pop whilst you are wearing them (as with most matte lipsticks). I also LOVE how they come in a bright pink case with rhinestone detail- it makes it really easy for me to find them in my bag!
I highly recommend them and will re-purchase.
Where to Buy
Buy Ciccone from their online store
Price
Each lippie retails for $25.00
Hope you enjoyed!

I love Blush- Illamasqua "Ambition" Review

Haute Quote: "Because you've got to have Ambition"

Every once in a while I'll fall head over heels in love and hold onto a product like Gollum holds onto his precious....

I'd like to think my skin is a bit better, though.

One such product that has sent my heart aflutter is Illamasqua's FIRST EVER BLUSH WITH SHIMMER called "Ambition"

Ambition is part of the "Theatre of the Nameless" collection and it's just great.

What's The Colour?
Ambition is a soft, neutral pink with gold shimmer delicately pressed throughout. Some have said it's a bit like Nars' "Orgasm"... but in my opinion it isn't as corally.

What's The Product Like?
The product is fantastic. The powder is finely milled, highly pigmented and applies like a dream. It also comes in the lovely 1920's inspired packaging that is synonymous with Illamasqua

Without flash in natural light

With Flash- you can really see the gold shimmer shining through

And this is what it looks like on my face- really subtle and pretty!

Overall Impression
This blush is most certainly going in my "everyday makeup" bag. It's such a gorgeous wash of colour that makes you look healthy, pretty and perky! The gold shimmer works so well to highlight and lift the cheekbones without adding highlighting products. I highly recommend this blush to EVERYONE!

Where to Buy It: Myer, Illamasqua Online

How Much: $42.00

Have a lovely Friday my lovelies!
